NormanBLAKEYFormer Assistant Chief Officer for Leicestershire Fire Service Passed away peacefully on Monday 19th January 2026, aged 90 years. Much loved and devoted husband to the late Margo and Nunky to Helen. Beloved uncle Norman to all his nieces and nephews. Your family will always cherish the happy memories of times past with you and Margo. Funeral service at South Leicestershire Crematorium, Countesthorpe on Tuesday 24th February at 12 noon.

I served under Norman when he was Northern Area Divisional Officer in the Fire Service at Loughborough Fire Station in the 1970`s. He was a pleasure to know, a real gentleman, who did his best to keep me in the service during a difficult time for me, which resulted in me leaving.

Some loves are so strong they are never truly parted. He was a man of kindness, wisdom, and beautiful stories — a soul who brought warmth wherever he went. It was an honour to have known him and to share in so many heartfelt conversations, putting the world to rights. I will miss him deeply. Yet there is peace in imagining him now with his dear Margaret, hand in hand once more, their spirits reunited in everlasting light.
Forever in our hearts, loved and missed always ❤️
